Kentucky Bluegrass

Kentucky bluegrass is a very winterhardy species. It is persistent, with strong rhizomes, and erect leafy shoots. Growth starts early in spring, and the regrowth consists mainly of leafy material. Kentucky bluegrass is popular in pastures used for grazing. It is common in temperate and relatively moist regions in both the northern and southern hemispheres.
