SUPER BENTS
Super Bents™ represent the next generation of creeping bentgrass genetics, a truly remarkable achievement in plant breeding after 40+ years of meticulous testing and selection for disease resistance, heat and drought tolerance, wear tolerance, and superior turf quality.
Super Bents™ are an advanced class of creeping bentgrass with finer leaf texture, greater shoot density, and extraordinary resistance to Dollar Spot, Anthracnose, Brown Patch and Pink/Gray Snow Mold. Moreover, each of these elite varieties exhibit a vigorous and uniform growth habit, exceptional tolerance to low mowing heights, and consistent performance across cool season and transition zone climates.
Super Bents™ are tailored for golf course greens, fairways and tees. Improved density and cool weather active growth, combined with low thatch production, helps them keep Poa annua out and recover quickly from foot traffic, divots, ball marks, verticutting and aerification.
VERSATILE AND RESILIENT VARIETIES

OO7XL has been the hottest bentgrass variety on the market since its release in 2021. It was rated #1 for greens and fairways in Rutgers University turf trials for four straight years (2017-2020) and has been excelling on golf courses across the U.S as a result of its fine texture, density, cool weather performance and exceptional tolerance to Dollar Spot, Brown Patch and Anthracnose.

Tillinghast (or “Tillie” for short) is the newest addition to the Super Bents™ lineup. It demonstrated superior turf quality for greens and fairways in 2023 NTEP trials and has extremely high resistance to Dollar Spot, Brown Patch and Pink Snow Mold, as well as Anthracnose and Pythium Root Rot. It produces dense turf that resists Poa annua invasion and keeps thatch under control.

Macdonald was developed for its high resistance to diseases, specifically Dollar Spot and Brown Patch. It also establishes well, recovers rapidly, and its cool season growth in early spring and late fall helps prevent Poa annua invasion.

OO7 has proven to be widely adaptable. Used extensively around the world for greens, tees and fairways, it consistently delivers superior turf.

777 is a highly refined, dependable variety that shows superior performance under heat stress, in addition to excellent disease resistance.

Flagstick offers superior Dollar Spot resistance, excellent growth habit for fairways, and reduced thatch for greens.

MacKenzie is known for its aggressive lateral spreading characteristic that produces high density and low organic matter, giving it exceptional recovery and stress tolerance.

SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS
Super Bents™ are the most environmentally friendly bentgrasses in the world, requiring significantly fewer inputs than older generations and empowering end users to do more with less – less water, less fungicides, less pesticides and less maintenance. Not surprisingly, Super Bents™ were the first varieties approved by the Alliance for Low Input Sustainable Turf (A-LIST) after they added creeping bentgrasses to their list.
