Zoom 2 (DLFPS-236/3545) Perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) demonstrates superior turf quality across all locations of the 2016 Perennial Ryegrass NTEP. It also has shown excellent resistance to Gray Leaf Spot, Red Thread, Crown Rust and Pink Snow Mold. Zoom 2 requires less inputs making it appropriate for many uses. In addition, Zoom 2 is wear tolerant at all cutting heights, with rapid recovery of divots from tillers and stolons. Zoom 2 has a dark green color and high tolerance of winter, drought and salt are additional characteristics of this superior cultivar. Zoom 2 can be used for all turfgrass projects, from golf course tees and fairways to home landscapes. Zoom 2 has high salt tolerance and is suitable for use on planting sites with poor water quality. Zoom 2 exhibits superior winter color as well as great turf qualityn and early Spring greenup. High density and low Poa annua invasion means lower inputs. Zoom 2 blends well with other improved perennial ryegrasses for all uses. It mixes well with Kentucky bluegrass, fine fescues and tall fescues. It can be blended with other perennial ryegrasses, turf-type intermediate and annual ryegrasses or mixed with fine fescues or Poa trivialis for excellent winter overseed on permanent bermudgrass.
