Developed by the Oklahoma State University Turfgrass Research Team, in conjunction with the USGA, Yukon’s parental plants were selected in 1990 from a cold hardy study based on their high turf quality. Yukon continues to be a dramatic improvement in a seeded bermudagrass variety Yukon uses up to 25% less water than other bermudagrasses, while maintaining superior turf quality. In multiple locations and over a decade of use Yukon continues to surpass all other seeded varieties and many of the vegetative varieties for Spring Dead Spot resistance, early spring green-up and winter survival.
