Poa pratensis

SR 2284
SR 2284 Kentucky Bluegrass is a top-performing, fine-textured America-type bluegrass designed for superior heat and drought tolerance. With exceptional density, early spring green-up, and a very dark green color, this elite variety is ideal for high-performance golf courses, sports fields, and commercial landscapes. It thrives under various management levels and performs exceptionally well in moisture-stressed conditions, ensuring a lush, high-quality turf even in challenging environments. Additionally, SR 2284 boasts excellent fall and winter color retention, moderate winter dormancy, and a strong resistance to common turf diseases such as Necrotic Ring Spot, Rust, and Leaf Spot.
Developed from the C-74 Kentucky Bluegrass line at Rutgers University, SR 2284 was selectively bred for its winter performance and overall turfgrass quality. It features short internodes for increased shoot density, leading to faster wear recovery and improved playability on athletic fields and golf courses. Compared to other elite Kentucky bluegrass varieties, SR 2284 offers superior winter color, better spring green-up, and enhanced disease resistance, particularly in the Pacific Northwest.
