Festuca rubra litoralis

Samanta
Samanta slender creeping red fescue (Festuca rubra L. subsp. littoralis) has long been the standard for turf blends or mixtures where salt tolerance is required. Slender creeping red fescues are excellent for low maintenance sites with short rhizomes for repair and a short growth habit. They can be used for all turf sites from golf greens and fairways to unmown roughs or lawns. Samanta is particularly well suited for use in mixtures on roadsides where salt is used during the winter for ice control. Samanta has high density and medium dark green color. It demonstrates excellent Red Thread resistance and good tolerance of low mowing. It can be blended with Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass and other fine fescues in many turf locations.
