Phleum pratense

Valor

Valor

Valor Timothy is a highly valued forage bunchgrass, thriving in a variety of environments from waterways to dry meadows. Widely distributed throughout the United States, it is particularly well-suited to cooler climates, especially in the northern half of the country and mountainous regions further south. Timothy's shallow root system and preference for finer soils make it ideal for hay production, often combined with alfalfa. While short-lived, it provides early-maturing, high-quality nutritious forage preferred by cattle and horses, though it's less competitive with legumes. Timothy exhibits winter hardiness and excellent drought tolerance. It flourishes in cool, moist meadows but can become invasive in wet areas.
