PGA TOUR Back on DLF Grass
DLF’s elite turfgrasses are once again under the spotlight at a PGA TOUR event, as the world’s best golfers head to McKinney, Texas, for THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch.

In preparation for the tournament, the course was overseeded last September with our Champion Fine seed mix, which includes top-performing Perennial Ryegrass varieties – Thrive, Mightier, and Fiesta 4 – along with SR5130 Chewings Fescue. This same mix has delivered proven results at other Tournament Players Club (TPC) venues like TPC Sawgrass in Florida and TPC Scottsdale in Arizona.
Overseeding with cool-season grass is a widely used strategy in warmer climates to enhance performance and aesthetics while Bermudagrass and Zoysiagrass are dormant, especially when a golf course will be hosting a high-profile event like a PGA TOUR tournament.
Tune in throughout the week on the Golf Channel and NBC Sports App, with final rounds airing on CBS over the weekend. Texas stars Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth will be among the 156 players in the field – both looking for their first win at this prestigious event.
Other notes:
- TPC Craig Ranch, a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, has hosted the Byron Nelson since 2021.
- The tournament is the PGA TOUR’s top fundraiser for charity, with over $143 million to date.
- Following the event, TPC Craig Ranch is scheduled to undergo a full course renovation, with redesigned bunkers, updated greens complexes, new irrigation and drainage systems, and improved turf – including all greens seeded with DLF’s 777 Creeping Bentgrass.
