CUCUMIS SATIVUS

Straight 8 Cucumber
This heirloom slicing cucumber, the Straight Eight, has a smooth, cylindrical body, known for its deep-green skin and straight 8-inch fruit. The ends are rounded and blunt, free from stippling. This variety produces generous and vigorous vines that are resistant to mosaic virus. This cucumber variety is dual-purpose as the young fruits can be pickled when small or the mature 8 to 9-inch fruits can be sliced. The taste is sweet and mild. Straight Eight cucumbers are a crowd pleaser, and an AAS winner (1935).
