POA PRATENSIS L.

Minnfine Kentucky Bluegrass
Minnfine Kentucky bluegrass is a common variety of Kentucky bluegrass similar in characteristics to Park Kentucky bluegrass. Deer creek Seed is the only seed company in Wisconsin that produces, conditions, and markets Minnfine Kentucky bluegrass. In general, Kentucky bluegrass has the highest quality color and texture of the cool season grasses. Kentucky Bluegrass gives lawns a great look by spreading to fill in open areas or thickening existing stands. For new lawns and overseeding lawns, Kentucky bluegrass is primarily used in a mixture along with perennial ryegrass, creeping red fescue, chewings fescue, or tall fescue. Bluegrass needs above average rainfall or irrigation to prevent summer dormancy caused by heat.
