Pierre sideoats grama is a warm season, perennial native grass found throughout the United States. It grows about 2-3 feet tall and is a most commonly found in the rangeland of the central and southern Great Plains. It grows best on drier, upland prairie sites and produces a high quality, nutritious forage that is palatable to many kinds of livestock and some wildlife species.
